Bulls Win Gets The Party Started

The Bulls beat Grimsby 2-0 in today's final League Two match at Edgar Street.

First half goals from Ben Smith and Theo Robinson put the game beyond doubt as the Mariners, despite some early chances, failed to impose themselves on the game after half time.

A bumper crowd of 6,020 - with 5,800 Bulls fans even using the away section of the Blackfriars End - applauded the team round the pitch afterwards, with the players returning to the dressing room to find 24 bottles of champagne gifted to them by members of the Vice Presidents Club.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy was again in attendance, but left before rumoured target Dean Beckwith was given a standing ovation when he was subbed late into the game.

Full report later.
