Top Two Clash on Friday

The current top two teams in League Two will do battle on Friday evening at the new MK Dons stadium.

And with around 3,500 fans from Peterborough expected to make the short journey to stadiummk a gate of over 15,000 may be on the cards. The game is all-ticket and interestingly only MK Dons supporters with a postcode starting with MK or LU can purchase tickets for the home areas.

To date Bradford have had the highest gate in League Two this season. 15,510 watched their game against Lincoln City on Boxing Day, but that record could tumble on Friday.

The first League meeting of the season between Peterborough and Mk Dons in December produced a 2-1 win for the Dons who also defeated Posh 3-1 in a Trophy game two months earlier.

Posh manager Darren Ferguson will therefore be hoping for his first win over former team mate Paul Ince's Dons but knows it won't be easy. Peterborough were held 0-0 at London Road by lowly Notts County last Saturday.

"We didn't play well against County, but how can I complain when we've just won 11 of our last 13 games? It's impossible to win every match at this level, but we have the perfect opportunity to bounce back on Friday," said Ferguson as reported by Peterborough Today.

"It's a huge game for both teams and we are really looking forward to taking part in what should be a cracking match. The first game at our place was a great advert for League Two football and I can't see this being any different.

"The incentive for us is obvious. If we win, and I believe we can, then we will be back on the top of the table. We will have a great following which will help as the fans have been outstanding all season."

For Hereford United a draw between the top two is probably the best result. If it happens the gap between them and the Bulls will be six points with Hereford having one game in hand over Mk Dons and two over Peterborough.

But with both teams playing well this game will be hard to call.
