The Bulls get chance of swift revenge as they entertain Chesterfield for the first time in thirteen years.
Less than four weeks ago the Spireites inflicted the Bulls worst defeat of the season as the hooves failed to get a steady footing on wet ground. Chesterfield have won on each of their last three trips to Edgar Street, the last in January 1995.
The Bulls will be geared up to inflict as much pain as they received from the reverse fixture and, with eight goals in the last two games, they have proven they are capable of battering the goal. In appears to be a done deal that the instant partnership of Sherjill Macdonald and Gary Hooper, suppliers or scorers of just about every one of those eight goals, will continue up front. Graham Turner will hope Ben Smith and Toumani Diagouraga will recover from injury but has ample cover in Kris Taylor and Sam Gwynne.
Since that night at Saltergate, Chesterfield have given the impression that their 4-0 win was a one-off. Just two points have been recorded from five games since, conceding ten goals, with the run dropping them out of the play-off zone. They have acquired forward Kevin Cooper from Cardiff since our last meeting, and he made an instant impact with a goal on his debut but they were already three goals down at Grimsby before his introduction.
