Pitman happy as Harvey's Assistant

Former Hereford United mid-fielder Jamie Pitman is enjoying life at Forest Green where he is assistant manager to another Bull's favourite Jimmy Harvey.

Forest Green are having one of their best ever seasons and Pitman has been involved both on and off the pitch.

"It has been pretty good, the gaffer has been really good to me, he's been patient and he has helped take training as well," Pitman told the Gloucester Gazette.

"It's been a big learning curve, I've been fortunate to be playing at the same time and my form has not been too bad.

"You have to find the right balance, it can be difficult, but the lads have been good.

"We don't have a big divide between the management and the players.

Pitman and Harvey travel from Hereford, where they both live, to the Lawn together and Pitman thinks they have 'similar personalities'.

"He probably saw a bit of himself in me, the way I was, how much I enjoy the game and read it quite well, my attitude, the way I want to work, and hopefully what I've done over my career.

"We always talk about games and players and everything that goes with being a manager.

"He's very responsive, good at listening to others and taking opinions. He always asks me a question before he gives his opinion."
