Steve Bull is hoping he will be offered the managership of Stafford Rangers later this week. Bull would follow another former Hereford United player Phil Robinson if he gets the job.
"We will have a meeting early next week and I will have a listen to what they come up with. It is still on the table," Bull told the Express and Star.
"It would be a good step for me to start in management at Stafford. I live close by and I have always wanted to do it.
"I don’t want to look back in 15 years time and say I wish I had had a go.
"They told me the plans and what they want over the next two, three or four years – a new ground somewhere maybe – and I’d like to be part of it."
Whilst at Stafford yesterday Bull went to a Betfair betting shop to meet customers and help support the Promise Dreams charity (Bull has helped Promise Dreams, of which he is a patron, raise more than £2 million over the last six years and help more than 700 children.)
He was given a free £100 bet which he put on Crack Away in a race at Sandown. The horse came in at 11-4.
