We need to be at our best -Turner

In advance of tomorrow's League Two match at Chesterfield Graham Turner has been interviewed by Trevor Owens for BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"Chesterfield have just had a little bit of an indifferent spell, lost to Rochdale in the week at home," said the Hereford United manager.

"We just feel we have got to get our feet back on the floor, get focussed back on the League. That's our bread and butter. We need to stay in contention now and to do that we have got to be at our best going to Chesterfield.

"The FA Cup can be a distraction we know that. And we've had two big wins with the League win over Shrewsbury and then Tranmere."

Turner said that the players had been given a few days off to 'recharge their batteries'. They returned to training yesterday and also went in this morning to get ready for Chesterfield.

"So far the players have been capable of adjusting from one game to the next. Whatever has happened is gone and done with and they've got on with the next match. That's what we got to make sure we do at Chesterfield.

"The games in the FA Cup seem to have got bigger. Fourth round tie against Cardiff is a big game. We have got to make sure there are no thoughts of that game. Chesterfield is the priority and to ensure we get something out of that game."

Owens then asked Turner about the League Two table. The Hereford United manger replied that he thought many people would be surprised how well Hereford had done.

"Well-informed people would have looked at the squads at the start of the season - there selection would have been Darlington, Peterborough, MK Dons. There are no surprises there.

"I don't think we are serious contenders in most peoples eyes and that's how we want it to stay. As long as people go on slightly under-estimating us, we will be quite happy with that."
