Several Hereford United supporters were featured on Midlands Today as part of their report from last night's game at Edgar Street. Below is a summary.
Hereford United went through to the Fourth Round of the FA Cup for the first time in sixteen years with victory over Tranmere last night. The League Two team will now face Cardiff City.
It's proving to be a special season at Edgar Street and last night I (the reporter) was there.
The main car park was flooded. It looked more like a moonscape. More than an hour before kick-off they were queueing to get in. This has been a superb season for Hereford United.
They then interviewed Ray Pugh, a former Hay-on-Wye postman and supporter of Hereford United for fifty years.
"I've throughly enjoyed every game this year. They've really tried their hardest. It's very entertaining and the position in the League has been absolutely first class."
Another supporter said:
"Fanastic in the League. The Cup's a bonus. Hopefully we'll get promoted into League One. Graham Turner is a hero."
Even on a cold and misty night fans like Dave Finch are loving every second of it. He never misses a home game along with his daughter Julie and son Wayne.
"We knew they would do it in the end. Bring on Cardiff," said Dave.
Then comments from Graham Turner.
"Tranmere looked the better side for periods and looked as though they were a League higher than us. But we dug in, showed a lot of resilience and scored a cracking goal."
