Lincoln manager Peter Jackson told the post match press conference that he was pleased with his side's application this afternoon at Edgar Street despite the sending off of Gary Croft.
"It was always going to be difficult to come here against a team with a good home record and who were flying high and to go down to 10 men after just nine minutes made it a real battle," said Jackson.
"We went a goal down from the penalty but pulled one back through Frecklington and looked comfortable.
"But although we played really well first half and looked likely to score again, then came a fluke goal from their right back into the top corner. We came out second half and created chances again but they scored the killer goal."
Meanwhile John Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester that it was a very satisfying victory.
"It was a tricky game I felt. Lincoln have got too many good players to hang around the bottom of the League.
"Difficult day as well, very windy, difficult conditions.
"They had a man sent of after ten minutes which people automatically assume is going to make things easy but it's far from the case.
"In the end we had more chances than the three goals we scored."
Trewick talked about the all-important second goal for Hereford.
"We were grateful for that. We didn't want to go in at 1-1. 2-1 just gives you that little bit of breathing space.
"Smashing finish. I'm not quite sure what Trent actually meant when he got on the ball but it was a great finish. He'll tell everybody it was perfectly placed and I'm quite happy to accept that!"
