Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy wants a response from his side after a poor showing against Wycombe last weekend.
The former Macclesfield man told local paper The Visitor: "Friday was our least effective performance recently and that surprised me. Now we have got to bounce back against Hereford.
"We will be working hard this week – there's no parties for us and there will be no days off. We will be training on Christmas Day and are working on Boxing Day. I watched Hereford at Bury on Saturday and they are a good side. We will have to be on our mettle, we can't play the way we did on Friday.
"We are coming up to a busy run of games, starting on Saturday, right through the Christmas period and then we've got eight games in January. Hopefully in the New Year we will still be in a condition to kick on. Our main objective is to be a League club next year – that is not being negative, we want to consolidate and build."
Meanwhile, the club have been slammed by supporters for only offering a 50% refund for supporters who attended the abandoned match against Darlington. Just 22 minutes of the game was played with those holding tickets entitled to half price entry to the re-arranged game on January 15th, or half their money back if they cannot attend the new date. A spokesman for the club told the press: "When we looked at pricing for the rearranged game we aligned ourselves to the Football League's Customer Charter guidelines, which ourselves and Darlington follow, and the arrangements we have made fit in with those guidelines."
