Ex-Bull Jimmy Quinn has signed a new deal as manager at Cambridge United. After apparently rejecting moves to Port Vale and Gillingham, Quinn has signed a deal at the Abbey Stadium until 2010. Chestfield have released veteran defender George Santos, who has joined Rotherham on trial.
Peterboro manager Darren Ferguson has told the press his old club Wrexham wouldn't be in the mess they are in if he was in charge. Ferguson left the Racecourse under a cloud after being overlooked for the job Brian Carey got. Stan Ternent is now the front runner to replace Carey, who told the press: "We'll have to see what happens but I'll stay in charge for as long as I am wanted."
Macclesfield have signed Blackpool defender Phil Doughty on a months loan. The 21 year old's only first team experience has been on loan at Barrow and Leigh RMI. Mansfield have opted not to keep Sheff Weds midfielder Sean McAllister for a third month. His last appearance for the Stags was as a late sub at Edgar Street on Tuesday.
