With tomorrow's game at Edgar Street getting top billing below is a preview from the PFA website written by Ian Clarkson.
Little doubt this week that Edgar Street is playing host to the match of the day in League Two. The Bulls are lying in fourth spot - their best start since returning to the professional leagues three seasons ago.
Despite their impressive form on their own patch - last season it was their form at Edgar Street that was the foundation for a solid campaign - they will have their work cut out to stop Paul Ince and his merry band. Last week, the Dons chalked up a club record eight wins on the spin as they smashed four past Lincoln City in front of an impressive crowd in excess of 13,000.
Owner Pete Winkelman would be relieved to see the Dons start the season so well, particularly as he had the upset of the play-off semi-final defeat to Shrewsbury and the loss of manager Martin Allen to contend with during the summer.
Ince has a good, strong squad and in Leon Knight has a player who knows the way to goal. If Ince is the man to tame the striker after more than a few troubles along the way through his career so far, the Dons may start their upward path after slipping through the leagues.
And the visitors are likely to be odds-on again to triumph as Hereford have suffered a major blow this week after learning that influential defender Dean Beckwith has been ruled out for six weeks with a broken jaw.
Good centre halves are a priceless commodity in any league - but especially League Two where resources are generally stretched. And if Hereford can prevent the Dons from picking up their ninth win on the spin, there will be more than a few who consider that a decent return.
