Good players have made the difference says Turner

Graham Turner has told BBC Hereford and Worcester that he realises the Bulls have done very well so far this season. A victory against Chester tomorrow evening could put them top of League Two if only for just under two days as current leaders MK Dons don't play until Sunday afternoon.

"What has been surprising, with the big changes that we have had, is the way that they have gelled together.

"There is that realistic view: "Let's get enough points to ensure survival", and then we can look above that.

"But, if you're a real optimist, you can say that we've got a side that is capable of staying near the top of the table, competing for at least a play-off place and enjoying ourselves along the way."

Turner thinks the bringing in of good players to Edgar Street has made the difference.

"Good players; we changed the staff considerably in the summer; we brought in some more experience - players who have played at a decent level - and they're showing all that experience and ability.

"What has been surprising, with the big changes that we have had, is the way that they have gelled together.

"They've got that little understanding with the groups of players and, not only have we had some decent results, but we've played well.

"We've got four cracking games coming up; Chester, who are third; the MK Dons, who are currently top; Peterborough, who are well fancied - they spent a lot of money in the summer - and then Darlington, who are also fancied.

"These next four games will really be a test of our mettle - to see whether we've got the credentials to be promotion contenders.

"We'll know a lot more about the players and the side after these next four games."
