Quit Smoking and you might help the Bulls

It hasn't taken long for a company to muscle in on the smoking ban at Edgar Street and all the other Football League clubs. Nicotinell has launched an advertising campaign which allows supporters to win money for their club.

The two year deal means that Nicotinell becomes the Official Nicotine Replacement Therapy of The Football League. Their products will be available in club shops.

In essence the deal will support clubs with the smoking ban and give support and incentives for fans to give up smoking.

A website, www.keepthefire.co.uk/football, has been created for fans pledging to quit. Fans who register will receive points depending on how their 'smoke free' attempt is progressing.

The points won by successful 'smoke free fans' will be consolidated into a constantly updated league table for each division , and towards the end of the season the two clubs at the top of each division will win a cash prize. The winning clubs will then present three options for spending the money and the fans will choose how the money is allocated. Fans will also benefit by winning training sessions with their clubs.

The prizes on offer to clubs and fans in League Two are:

First Prize - £15,000 for the club and a training session for 15 'smoke free fans'

Second Prize - £10,000 for the club and a training session for 10 'smoke free fans'

Novartis, the company that produces Nicotinell, hopes that the partnership between Nicotinell and The Football League should benefit everyone.
