Hereford and Wolves to gain promotion says Turner

After saying yesterday that Hereford United would finish top of League Two, manager Graham Turner has backed one of his former clubs, Wolverhampton Wanderers, to gain promotion to the Premiership.

In a long article in the Express and Star Turner reveals he still has a huge affection for Wolves where he was manager for seven years.

"I do think that will go up this season," he said.

"I think Mick is a very shrewd manager and Wolves have a great, great chance this year. He has assembled a squad that is more than capable of challenging at the top - it has real quality running through it.

"I’m sure the announcement of the new owner has added a bit of expectation as well - and there probably is that belief that they will go up now.

"But they haven't gone crazy this year.

"He has had the money to spend - although probably not quite as much as some of the other managers in the division.

"But what he's done really well is bring people in from the lower leagues who have great success.

"Not a lot of managers at a club of Wolves size would have taken that chance but fair play to Mick he has done that and its paid dividends.

"You look at the Kightly's, Keogh's and Eastwood's and the great thing about them is that they still have that hunger to succeed.

"That has not always been true of some of the players who have been brought in at Wolves in the last few years but it certainly is now."
