Wayne Brown, Hereford United's first choice goalkeeper, may miss the opening League Two game of the season next Saturday against Rotherham.
Manager Graham Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester that Brown may not recover from his groin injury in time for the game. Speaking before news that Bristol City's Chris Weale will feature for the Bulls tomorrow, Turner said:
"There are some out there; I've been making some enquiries.
"There are one or two clubs willing to let younger keepers come out, but we'd like someone with a little bit more experience, especially if they have got to kick the season off for us."
Chris Weale could be the ideal keeper to come to Edgar Street on a months loan. Experienced and being able to train with the squad for a week or so before the League starts would be very helpful.
What is unclear is whether, should Brown still be unavailable, Weale will be able to play in the Carling Cup game against his old club Yeovil on August 14th. Bristol City may not want him cup-tied.
Supporters will remember when Wayne Brown was injured early last season and Turner had to bring in several stand-in goalkeeper in a hurry.
