Alex Jeannin must have hoped that an appearance yesterday for Port Vale reserves against Barnsley might have been a game for the Frenchman to impress.
However it appears that it wasn't the ex-Hereford players day.
Firstly after just thirteen minutes Jeannin scored. Unfortunately it was for the opposition as the Frenchman turned a cross into his own goal.
Later in the first half he took a free kick which beat the keeper but then 'struck the angle of the crossbar and post.'
In the second half an assist by Jeannin helped Vale go ahead but then on ninety minutes Jeannin was red carded for bringing an opposing player down in the box and so had an early bath.
