Easy Payment Scheme for Season Tickets?

With the onset of the annual debate regarding season ticket pricing and whether or not to buy one I decided to take a look at what some other clubs are charging.

With the possible exception of costs for the very young it would seem that HUFC are not being too outrageous with their prices. However, a particularly interesting scheme has come to light on the Stockport Official Site which is effectively an easy payment scheme. Some may recall that HUFC offered a similar scheme some time ago but I understand it was discontinued when some fans cancelled their direct debit after having received the season ticket leaving the club out of pocket. The Stockport scheme is different in that it appears to be funded through a finance company who pay the club “up-front” for the ticket with the fan repaying the company over 10 months (Dec/Jan excl.?). Clearly, there are benefits for both the fans and the club. The fans get their ticket at a reduced price without having to stump up the full amount in one go while the club gets it’s playing budget in the bank before the season starts. The interest appears to be very low (about 9%) but some discount (early bird equivalent) may be being given to the finance company by the club. In any case, it’s something that could be considered as a means to get more fans committed to a full season at Edgar Street. The following is an example of an adult seat in the popular Stand at Edgeley Park.

Matchday price for 23 games @ £18 = £414.00
Season Ticket £270.00
10 Payments @ £29.32 £293.20

The company already operate the scheme for around 30 League clubs.

Would it work at Edgar Street with our equivalent pricing?
