Another book to include Hereford United

A football fan from Kent is writing a book about football memories and Hereford United will be one of the half a dozen or so clubs featured.

Chris Stagg, who collects programmes and other memorabilia, first saw the Bulls in the fifties and has followed their progress ever since.

At the time Hereford were in the Southern League and often played against teams from Kent where Stagg is based.

This week he had a letter published in the Hereford Journal.

EARLIER this year you kindly printed a letter advising that I was writing a book on Hereford United Football Club.

The response was good and I am now in the process of completing the book. However, I still require further material.

I am especially keen to obtain information for the period 1945 to 1955 and in particular the football programmes for those years. I will return any material lent or will pay excellent prices to purchase for my research.

Stagg told Bulls News this evening that the response from the letter had been very good and he had received information and programmes from Hereford United supporters.

A couple of Hereford players from the fifties had spoken to him.

The book has a provisional publication date of sometime next spring.
