Tamika Mkandawire is again being chased by Malawi to turn out for their national side.
Tam's father is Malawian and Tam was born there, but has had to reject previous opportunities to play for the side because Malawi FA rules dictate that players must be purely Malawi citizens. Tam hold dual British and Malawi passports, and surrendering his UK passport would mean he would require a work permit to play in the UK.
The Hereford Times quotes Malawi FA President Walter Nyamilandu as saying: "I watched the highlights of the game on TV and I was impressed with Tamika's performance. We are now going to intensify our drive to persuade him to play for Malawi. We cannot take chances because if we are to live our dream of qualifying for the 2008 Nations Cup then these are they type of players we need."
