Halifax take on Grays Athletic this afternoon

The first Conference play-off game takes place this afternoon at the Shay. Halifax are hoping that a win today will put them on-route for a return to the Football League which they left four years ago.

Chris Wilder, the Halifax manager, has spoken to the Yorkshire Post of his hopes.

"We only finished a point apart in the final table so I do not think there will be much between the two teams over two legs.

"I cannot see either of us being out of sight after the first leg, that's for sure.

"Both games in the league were quite even and I don't think they will have any bearing. They were missing a couple of players up here in the league game, while we should have won down there."

Wilder was asked about whether playing the first game at home was a disadvantage.

"I don't think so. The dream, of course, is to play at home in the second leg and grab the winner from 35 yards with a minute to go in front of our own fans.

"But I think those expecting that have been watching too much of the football programme 'Dream Team' on Sky."

The game starts at 3pm in front of an expected crowd of around 4,500.
