Ex-Bull Danny Gets Stevenage Axe

Danny Williams is one of seven Stevenage players to be released following their failure to make the play-offs.

Williams departure is unsurprising after a season blighted by tendonitis. He managed just three starts, last playing as an 80th minute sub in late January.

Matt Hocking, Laurie Stewart, Eric Obinna, Justin Gregory and Gary Schillachi are also released while Barry Laker, who joined Stevenage from Farnboro with Graham Westley, has retired.

Meanwhile, Westley remains in talks with Chairman Phil Wallace over his own future which is likely to be decided next week.
