Canvey have received a small boost following their recent problems after the FA told them they would join the Ryman League.
The club had feared they would end up as far down as the Essex Senior League, but will now start next season in Ryman One North - two steps below the Conference South. They were originally placed in the Ryman Premier, but requested a drop to the feeder league and will not face an early rematch with former manager and owner Jeff King, who was confirmed as Ryman Premier side Chelmsford's boss at the weekend.
In other news, Weymouth have signed Aldershot's Nick Crittenden on a one year deal after beating offers from both Aldershot and Exeter.
