Nice Stadium, shame about the pitch

This afternoon was the first time Hereford United have played Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.

The new stadium is just across the road from the one it replaced and has plenty of car parking around it, but with a £2 charge.

For a Conference club it was very impressive, perhaps a touch like Telford's. One side of the stadium contained excutive boxes as well as other facilities and the press box.

All four sides were under cover and contained their own facilities but supporters had to queue outside for refreshments unless they went in the bar.

The view from the away end was reasonable and with a large following of about 600 Hereford United fans there today, the atmosphere was good.

However the pitch itself was disappointing. Much of it had been well sanded and rolled before today's encounter but there looks to be a problem with drainageas the pich had little grass on it.

Meanwhile today's attendance of 2512 was the second highest for a Conference game at Burton this season to date. Only the game against neighbours Tamworth attracted more support (2680).
