Green Agent Takes Managerial Job

Ryan Green's agent, Mel Eves, has taken up his first managerial post.

Eves, a former Wolves player himself, has taken over as manager of Willenhall Town in the Southern League Division One (West). Licenced agents can be involved in any club below Conference level according to FA rules.

Eves is also agent to several high profile players, like Rob Earnshaw, but has been the subject of some controversy surrounding his agents role. Crewe boss Dario Gradi blasted Eves in January after claiming the agent demanded a fee to allow Lincoln City defender Gareth McAuley to join Crewe for £150,000. Eves denied the claims, demanding an apology and retraction of the statement, and the player remained a Lincoln man. Crewe are the only Championship club that refuses to pay agents fees.

Eves relationship with QPR chief Gianni Paladini has also come under scrutiny. Paladini, himself a former agent and close friend of Eves, denied there was any wrongdoing after the club failed to disclose a £10,000 payment to Eves over the transfer of Dean Sturridge from Derby. The Football League have declared that they "are monitoring the situation".
