Boss not over-happy says Ferrell

Andy Ferrell, who scored one of Hereford's goals last night, told BBC Hereford and Worcester that the main thing was that the Bulls got three points from the game.

"We didn't play very well. Manager alluded to it at half-time. He didn't say anything at full-time, just get showered and straight on the bus. We'll talk about it on Thursday.

"Might let us watch the video!

"The three points is all that matters to be fair but we've played better than that this year and we've lost.

"So as long as we keep getting that winning mentality, that only good for us."

Southport manager Liam Watson was disappointed with the result.

"We did enough to get something out of this," he told local press.

"We had chances and did not take them.

"Again, we did well to comeback from an early setback. It's no use people telling me we played well, I'd have preferred a scrappy match and a points return than accolades for a performance that brought us nothing."

Meanwhile there wasn't that much atmosphere created by the 100 or so Bulls supporters at the Haig Avenue last night. Two groups, one in the stands and the other on the terrace, both tried to get the fans singing, but in truth they were too far apart.

Finally credit to Southport for working hard to ensure the game was played. At the start of the game, the pitch looked relatively good although it cut up as time went on.
