The attendance of 4497 was by far the best attendance at Edgar Street this season. (Figures from Confguide)
Boosted by some 283 from Accrington, this gate was nearly four times higher than that at Grays Athletic (1256), who still have a play-off place possibilty, this afternoon.
The gate was the sixth highest in the Conference this season bettered only by Exeter on four occasions and by York just once when neighbours Scarborough were the visitors.
In comparison Accrington's highest gate is only 3041 when Morecambe were the visitors. And Stanley's lowest gate this season is just 959, compared with Hereford's lowest gate of 1950.
To date the average at Edgar Street is 2736, down 11% on last season, whereas at Accrington their average gate is just 1686, up 10% on last season.
The figures beg the question as to how Accrington are able to survive in League Two on these low gates.
