Ryan Green, the Hereford United defender, may not be the youngest ever footballer to play for Wales for much longer.
According to BBC Wales, Welsh coach John Toshack is expected to give Derby defender Lewin Nyatanga his senior international debut against Paraguay on 1 March at the Millennium Stadium.
Nyatanga will become Wales' youngest ever player if he faces Paraguay.
The current record-holder is Ryan Green, now with Hereford United, who made his senior Wales debut under Bobby Gould at the age of 17 years and 226 days, playing against Malta and Tunisia in 1998.
But Nyatanga is on course to beat that record by 31 days if he takes the field against the South Americans in the friendly match in Cardiff.
Meanwhile Swansea youngster Shaun MacDonald, who has been linked with a possible tie-up with the Bulls, has been chosen to play for the Wales Under-21 squad v Northern Ireland Under-21.
This game takes place on Tuesday February 28th. Hereford United play Stevenage the previous evening.
