Confidence Low At Exeter

Exeter boss Alex Inglethorpe has admitted that his side's confidence is low after slipping out of the top five for the first time this season.

Inglethorpe told the Exeter Express and Echo: "Confidence is low at the moment, you can see that. There are lots of reasons and it's not just results. But it's up to me to lead the side and hopefully set an example. This is not the time to be wistful about it all.

"At the end of it we are still on an upward curve, this is just the reality check that sometimes everyone needs. A club can't keep going up and up and up. At some point there is a little reality check, and sometimes as either a club or as players or as a team that's what we are having at the minute. It's just to keep us in check. We'll come back from it, there are no two ways about that. We have come a long way in such a short space of time and sometimes there is a little kick-back to it all.

"It is about making sure the team rights itself in different areas both on and off the pitch and, when that happens, we will give ourselves the best chance possible. At the end of it we are still not out it, we are only three points off second, so let's not get carried away. We have got to play better than we have and we have got be a bit stronger as a group, but we will come through it."
