League is top Priority says Thompson

Halifax midfielder Tyrone Thompson has told Halifax Today that the Shaymen's main aim is to continue their push for promotion, but he conceded that success in the League can go hand in hand with success in the Trophy.

Halifax entertain Hereford United on Saturday.

"You want to give your best in every competition you enter," said Thompson.

"Obviously the league is the top priority for any side, but we want to do well in the Trophy too. There is no way we will be taking the game lightly because we want to win the tie.

"Success in the cups can breed confidence as much as wins in the league.

"There will be no let up on Saturday because Hereford are going well and they will be as keen as us to do well."

Meanwhile Graham Turner told the Hereford Times of his hopes for the game.

"Halifax are unbeaten at home but that record will end sometime," he said. "They are ripe to be beaten."
