Conference News Round-Up

Exeter are on the verge of sealing a deal to sign former Notts County midfielder Matthew Gill, 25, after the player sealed his release from County after two seasons. York are hunting for new defenders after losing two loan players and having three more on the sidelines. Sheffield Utd recalled Evan Horwood midway through his loan spell, and Lee Andrews has returned to Carlisle at the end of his spell. Originally lined up as Southport's new assistant boss, Chris Brass has left York and is now likely to resurface at League Two side Bury. Stevenage have rejected an offer from Barnet for Anthony Elding, but have accepted a higher "significant five figure sum" for the misfit forward from Kettering but the striker is waiting for better graded offers. The offers from Accrington, Burton, Scarboro, and Cambridge were all for a loan deal. Canvey have signed former Millwall trainee Joe Dolan from Leyton Orient on a two and a half year deal. The 6ft 2in defender played just twice for Orient after joining in the summer. Dagenham have sent striker Shaun Batt to East Thurrock United until the end of the season for some first team experience. The youth product has made just one subs appearance in the Daggers' first team.
