Bailey goes to Southport

Mat Bailey, who had a spell at Hereford United earlier this season, is to join Southport. This from their Official Website:

Southport this afternoon signed 6' 5" striker Mathew Bailey on loan from Crewe Alexandra. Bailey is in the squad for Saturday's game against Scarborough.

Meanwhile Paul Fairclough, the Barnet manager, has confirmed that he has been given permission to talk to Anthony Elding, the 23-year-old Stevenage Borough striker, over the weekend.

Finally Scarborough have signed David McNiven from Queen of the South. The club had hoped to have Anthony Elding from Stevenage on-loan but the deal fell through.

McNiven played on loan for Boro under Colin Addison in February and March 2000 scoring twice in 5 starts. His best form was found at Leigh RMI where he scored 25 times in 41 appearances in the Conference in 2003/4.
