Cozic on trial with Cobblers

Bertrand Cozic is having a trial at Northampton and reports suggest that Colin Calderwood is impressed.

Cozic spent a short spell at Edgar Street last season after being released by Cheltenham.

Colin Calderwood is planning to have a further look at the French trialist in the friendly with Stevenage Borough on Wednesday. The midfielder impressed against Wolves on Saturday, and Calderwood believes he could prove to be a valuable addition to the squad.

"We will speak to Bertrand Cozic and his agent and we will certainly want to keep him for a bit longer to have a bit more of a look at him.He has done his chances no harm at all and he might play at Stevenage on Wednesday," said Calderwood.

Meanwhile former Hereford United striker Paul Fewings has admitted he was "very disappointed" after being released by Nationwide Conference North club Kettering Town. Fewings finished as the top scorer at Rockingham Road in the Ryman League Premier Division campaign last season but, after two weeks of pre-season training with the Poppies, manager Kevin Wilson has let the striker go.
