| Willo celebrating his goal at Worksop |
The 39-year-old striker opened the scoring after just four minutes as the Bulls raced into a 3-0 half-time lead on their way to a dramatic 3-2 win.
“I thought the chance had gone actually,” Williams said after the match, which sees the Bulls three points from safety with up to seven games in hand.
“I was toying with a bicycle kick but I wasn’t sure how I’d deal with that at 39.
“Thankfully the ball came back to me and I was able to stick it away. It was a good goal and nice to get one again.”
Williams admitted Hereford made things harder than they needed to after the break but felt the performance showed the direction the team is moving in.
“We came out the traps quick, which is what we wanted to do,” he said.
“I actually think we could have been better to be fair and we were still three up. I think that’s a sign of where this team’s going.”
The goal was particularly pleasing for the veteran forward after a frustrating spell at the latter part of Paul Caddis's reign where he wasn't getting many chances.
"Since new gaffer's come in, I've started to get a few - I just haven't been putting them away so it was nice to to get one in the back of the net. Hopefully I can kick on and finish the season strongly."
Attention now turns to a long-awaited return to Edgar Street, with Hereford not having played at home since January 10 because of ongoing pitch problems.
Williams is hoping a home crowd can provide another lift.
"It'll be a real good experience for everyone," he said. "If we can win and get that place rocking, I think there'll be a few more coming back through the gates from now on."
