When will abandoned FA Cup match be replayed?

Given that the FA hasn't announced when Hereford's abandoned game at Sporting Khalsa will be replayed, it seems very unlikely that it will be on Tuesday.

That seemed the likely date after last Saturday's second qualifying round match was called off in the 70th minute after Khalsa goalkeeper Ravan Constable was reportedly racially abused.

Two individuals have since been identified as potentially involved in the incident, with Hereford handing interim banning orders at Edgar Street while an investigation is carried out.

The FA has said it was "very concerned" about what happened on Saturday and vowed action.

The draw for the third qualifying round was made earlier on Monday, with the winner of the Khalsa versus Hereford match facing Hemel Hempstead away.

Given that tie is on the weekend of September 27, one would think that the FA would want the abandoned match replayed as soon as possible.

Therefore, conceivably it could be played this Saturday (September 20), especially when you have to factor in that there may be a replay. If that is the case, it means that Hereford's home match against Worksop will have to be rearranged, with cups games taking precedence.

However, the most sensible date would be next Tuesday (September 23), with any replay played on the 27th when the other third qualifying round ties will be played.

In 2019, the fourth qualifying round match between Haringey and Yeovil was abandoned following reports of racism and other crowed-related trouble. That match was replayed 10 days later. However, the difference then was there was a larger gap between the fourth qualifying round and first round proper, compared to the second and third qualifying rounds this year.

One would hope that the FA will make a decision sooner rather than later.
