Hereford have been left bottom of the Enterprise National League North table with back-to-back defeats, with a clinical King's Lynn Town easily securing three points at Edgar Street.
A first half brace from Ross Crane was enough for the visitors to pick up their first win of the season after sharing the spoils with AFC Telford United on the opening day.
With Lawson D'Ath and Matt Preston coming into the side after the 2-0 defeat at Spennymoor last weekend, Hereford continued with their 4-5-1 formation with Remaye Campbell as the lone striker - a tough ask with what proved to be limited support with endless long balls during the first half.
After a minute's applause to honour the life of club historian Ron Parrott, the afternoon at a sunny and warm summers day at Edgar Street got off to the worst possible start as King's Lynn took the lead after just five minutes. Some excellent play between Joseph Nyahwema and Bailey Clements saw a wicked cross whipped into the box for the unmarked Crane to nod home.
The Bulls weren't spurred on by the early setback, other than a Keenan Quansah free kick which went behind for a woeful short corner, leaving the Linnets to intercept and break free. After bursting towards the Bulls' box, Reece Hall-Johnson found himself going for goal, but his effort wa blazed over the bar with keeper Theo Richardson unfazed.
Hall-Johnson was involved again moments later, linking Michael Clunan's quick free kick with Tom Wilson, but the latter's shot was blocked as the visitors kept up the pressure on Hereford's shakey-looking defence.
Having not got a foothold in the game and struggling to string two passes together, Hereford soon saw Crane bag his second in the 28th minute. As D'Ath tried to thread a needlessly complicated pass through to Eno Nto on the right, it was intercepted as King's Lynn hit the Bulls on the counter. A powerful Hall-Johnson effort clattered against the woodwork before Crane reacted quickest to bury the ball for his second - albeit possibly with the help of a White shirt.
Now facing a big uphill battle, there were two decent chances for Hereford, albeit not good enough to reduce the deficit as they attacked the Meadow End. The first came as D'Ath played a neat ball through to Omari Sterling-James, but his effort from the right-hand side of the 18-yard box was straight at Louis Chadwick who pushed it wide.
Then it was Campbell who rose highest from a corner, but his headed attempt was cleared off the line by the head of Hall-Johnson with Chadwick well beaten.
That was about the peak of Hereford's game, who persisted with fruitless long balls over the three-man midfield to lone striker Campbell who, despite winning his fair share of headers, was struggling with little support around him.
Eight minutes before the break, with King's Lynn intent on exploiting what they saw as a Hereford's weaker left side, Nyahwema was able to easily slip past Sam Osborne with his dangerous ball into the box cleared by Matt Preston.
Half time: Hereford 0 - King's Lynn Town 2.
For the Hereford fans hoping for changes to personnel and tactics at the start of the second, half of their wish came to fruition as Mitchell Roberts replaced Kyle Howkins alongside Preston at centre-back.
Six minutes into the half and Sterling-James picked out the head of Campbell with a fine cross from the left, although it was too wide of the mark to cause Chadwick any bother.
It was once again James Rowe's men, who you felt never needed to get into fifth gear all afternoon, causing the problems as they looked to strike back on 56 minutes when Gyasi tore down the right. He whipped a ball to Nyahwema at the back stick, but he couldn’t make it count.
But eight minutes later, the Linnets should have killed the game off when a quick corner caused chaos at the far post. As the ball fell to Michael Gyasi, he could only strike it into the side netting.
With flurries of changes for both sides, it wasn't until the 80th minute that Hereford dropped their lone-striker approach and put two up front when Andy Williams replaced Osborne, playing alongside I-Lani Edwards who had earlier replaced Campbell.
Despite five changes, the Bulls side, which looks to still need weeks to gel properly together and start playing as a team, couldn't net a late consolation goal. The closest they came was through Willo, but a tame headed effort was an easy claim for Chadwick.

All in all, a poor afternoon for Hereford. They weren't able to create anywhere near as many chances as they would like to have in front of more than 2,750 home fans and never really looked like scoring. As seemed the problem at Spennymoor last week, going a goal down hits the side hard - and that makes for an impossible afternoon when that comes five minutes after kick off.
Some hard work is needed by Paul Caddis, his backroom staff and players to turn things around as, while not the end of the world after two games, the lack of goals and chances will soon become a real problem if not addressed. It was the first time many fans will have seen the summer recruits - though their ability could hardly be fairly judged in what was a poor overall team performance.
There's also no time to dwell too much, as a trip to Buxton comes on Tuesday, a training session Thursday and Chorley at home two days after that.
