Caddis: I don't care if I upset people, I will be horrible and get rid of players

Hereford manager Paul Caddis has said he will be horrible and get rid of players after the Bulls sunk to a shaming 4-1 loss at home to Chorley.

With the damage done by the 22nd minute as Craig Hewitt, Adam Blakeman and a Jack Sampson penalty saw Chorley with a three goal advantage, Caddis alluded to imminent changes to the squad in his post-match interview.

With boos ringing around the ground at half-time and full-time, despite a slightly improved performance after the break, Caddis didn't hold back in his interview.

When asked about Monday's game at Radcliffe, Caddis said: "We need a reaction. There's no two ways about it. We need a reaction.

"If we don't get one then we've got issues. There's something that I'm going to have to look at. We need to get Monday out the way, it's difficult as it's coming so quick. But we, I, recognise we need to make changes."

Caddis referred to two moments during his two years at the club when he knew change was needed - the first a 4-0 defeat at Tamworth weeks into his first season and the second a 3-2 loss away at Radcliffe last season.

"I don't want to be - well, I don't care - I'm going to have to be horrible and get rid of people. We can't see that again."

He added: "We'll have a look and see if we can juggle the squad about a bit because I'm not having that.

"I'd have to move players out and and I'm willing to do that. It's my livelihood. I'm not here to make friends. I'm not here to be popular. I'm here to be successful, to provide for my family and be the best as I possibly can. If it means that I have to upset people, I don't really care."

Mitchell Roberts could be one facing the chop after reacting badly to be substituted midway through the second half after conceding what Caddis thought was a stonewall penalty.

While it looked more like simulation from Tom Carr from the Meadow End, Jack Sampson made no mistake from the spot, sending keeper Theo Richardson the wrong way.

When replaced by Kyle Howkins as Hereford switched from a 3-5-2 formation to 4-4-2, Roberts, who had played on the left of the back three, kicked an object in the dugout before disappearing down the tunnel.

"I've not spoke to Mitch," Caddis said bluntly in his post-match interview.

When pushed on whether Roberts might be part of the squad again, he added: "I was concentrating on the players that mattered at that moment in time. I'll have a conversation with Mitch and we'll see where we go from there."

A part of Birmingham City’s academy, Mitchell joined the Bulls in the summer having been released by National League Boston United. A former Birmingham City youngster, he had a number of loan spells to the likes of Harrogate Town, Carlisle United, Oldham Athletic and Solihull Moors.
