Sammy Robinson could miss the rest of the season according to Hereford manager Paul Caddis.
"Sammy's scan has come back, it wasn't great news, he'll be out for a lengthy time," said Caddis.
"We sent him to a specialist, we've just heard back, he'll likely miss the rest of the season.
"He'll go back and see the specialist again in a couple of weeks to see if things have improved.
"If not, he might need surgery.
"Really disappointing, none no more than for Sammy himself.
"He's been an excellent player for us and also been a fans favourite and everyone has loved him and I've loved working with him.
"It was a really disappointing challenge, I know their bench was a bit upset about it. When you see the footage it was quite nasty.
"So we're disappointed the way it happened and also the outcome."
