Caddis Brings In Sterling-James

Hereford manager Paul Caddis has boosted his squad with the signing of Omari Sterling-James from Rushall Olympic.

“Omari is someone we looked at in the summer but for obvious reasons of full time football available to him it made it difficult for us," said Caddis as reported on the OS.

“He is an experienced player who can deal with the expectations and pressures of playing for our football club. A winger by trade by can play anywhere across the front line. He is a big character with a big personality and will bring a high standard to our group.

“Omari brings an added bit of quality to our top line with his dead-ball ability and understanding of football. We look forward to seeing Omari for the remainder of the season.”

Now 31 Sterling-James started his career with Birmingham FC and was released in the 2012 summer. Shortly after he moved to Alvechurch and scored 11 goals in his first season.

He signed for Cheltenham in July 2014, then Solihull in the summer of 2016 and a year later joined Mansfield. However he only played in 14 games and went out on loan to several clubs before a move to Kidderminster in September 2020.

Two seasons later he found a home at Ebbsfleet where he started 59 games in two seasons.

Then last August it was back to Alvechurch and then Rushall Olympic.

Sterling-James was in the Rushall team that defeated Hereford 1-0 recently.

He also played for Kettering against Hereford in March 2020.
