This from Hednesford:
Hednesford Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of powerful forward Ahkeem Rose from Hereford FC. Rose, 26, brings a wealth of experience from various tiers of English and Scottish football, and his addition represents are huge coup for the football club.
Rose began his football journey with stints at Pelsall Villa and Heather St John's, where he showcased his goal-scoring prowess. These performances earned him a move to Grimsby Town in 2016, where he made 34 appearances in the English Football League. Following his time at Grimsby, Rose had successful spells with Boston United, Dover Athletic and Weymouth across Step 2 where he scored consistently earning him a move north of the border to Scotland where he impressed in both the Scottish Championship and League 1 for Ayr Utd and Hamilton Academical. From there, Ahkeem secured a move to Conference North Hereford Utd where he has played 26 times this season, with numerous goal involvements to his name.
Manager Gavin Hurren was delighted to get his man. “Ahkeem is a player I’ve admired for a while—he’s a strong, powerful centre forward who brings real presence to the front line. He has the versatility to play across the front three but is most effective as a No. 9, where his qualities really shine. His pedigree speaks for itself, having played at a high level throughout his career, and as soon as the opportunity arose to bring him to Hednesford, it was an easy decision. One of the most important things for me as a manager is bringing in players who fit the culture we are building—players with the right mentality, professionalism, and hunger to succeed. Ahkeem embodies all of that. He’s the type of player who not only improves us on the pitch but also strengthens the standards and identity we are creating as a club. His attitude and work ethic match exactly what we expect at Hednesford, and I have no doubt he will make a big impact. I’m delighted to have him on board and excited to work with him.”
Director of Football Andrew Reed added “ I’m absolutely delighted to bring Ahkeem Rose to the football club. As soon as it was a possibility to get Ahkeem we knew we had to move fast; he’s a great age and I think will be a huge asset to the club going forward with the amount of games we have played this season. The depth in all areas is what we need for our push to finish Strong and his goal scoring record in the leagues above are very promising. He could easily be playing at a much higher levels and we are excited to see him in a Hednesford town Shirt.”
Akheem will be available for tonight’s fixture away to Wythenshawe FC.
