Jaiden While opened the scoring for Hereford after just three minutes in last night's game against Warrington.
"We asked the players to come out on the front foot and try and get a goal early doors," said manager Paul Caddis in his post match interview.
"Jaiden comes inside and scores a brilliant goal.
"But then we took the foot off the gas a little bit.
"We are trying to encourage that once you go and get that first one go and get the second. We're at home, we don't want to protect the lead.
"Warrington came and took part, we knew it was going to be a tough game.
"People from the outside expect us to turn up, oh Hereford have won six, five of the last six.
"But it's tough against teams like that, they are fighting for their lives, they are fighting for the club, they are fighting for the manager.
"But tonight was all just about the result and the three points."
