Declan McGlynn has joined Hereford and came off the bench to make his debut yesterday against Rushall.
Manager Paul Caddis spoke about him in his post match interview.
Previously he had mentioned bringing in players from far off places.
"Can't get much further can you unless you go to Scotland.
"Declan is someone who was brought to our attention by someone at Birmingham, the assistant manager.
"He said that he had recognised a player whom he thought we should have a look at so we've brought him in.
"We tried to register him before the one of the home games, Marine, but because he's American with an Irish passport it took a bit of time.
"Brilliantly gifted, brilliant with left and right foot, just something completely different.
"I did say we were trying to shop in a market that no-one really recognises.
"The good thing is no-one will find out anything about Declan because we couldn't until we actually saw him.
"He's really good player, he's fitting in really well with the group.
"The thing that pleases me most, and you try and do this sometimes as a manager, you try and gauge the reaction of the players and the players are really impressed.
"He's putting balls in with his left, putting balls in with his right and it's different for him so we've got to be patient with him.
"He's with us for the forseeable future and we'll try and get as many minutes into him as we can."
