The campaign to 'Bring Back United' has won tonight's vote at the HUST AGM.
Approx 80% voted in favour.
The next step will be a vote by shareholders at the club AGM which is set to take place in the second half of January or possibly before at an EGM.
The campaign needed at least 66% of those voting to say yes to the change of name of the football club from Hereford FC to Hereford United.
At the shareholders meeting HUST will put forward the resolution which will require a 75% majority. Given HUST holds half the share in the club it will be the initial shareholders in particular who will need to be persuaded to vote for the change.
