Caddis Pleased With Result At Southport

Hereford manager Paul Caddis spoke to the media after yesterday's 4-1 win at Stourport.

"Really pleased first and foremost with the result," said Caddis.

"I thought performance wise for seventy five of the minutes we were excellent.

"First twenty five minutes was probably the best half hour since I came to the club. I thought we were on the front foot.

"We had a shot after about fifteen seconds, Ahkeem just set the tempo. Ahkeem and Monty caused huge problems throughout the day.

"Preston (Bitemo), young lad on his debut, played step six last year comes in, looks like a man, I though he was really good.

"Then the impact off the bench with Babs and Willo, that's the thing this time last year we had three players on the bench. Now we've got players on the bench with unbelievable talent.

"Overall really, really pleased but we've got to try and back it up on Monday."

Caddis spoke about the first goal.

"A great goal from Sammy and Huddy makes a great run to get across. It was something we had identified as a weakness.

"I just thought we controlled the game a lot better, we passed the ball a lot better. Too often in the last few games we went back to front too quickly.

"I thought having Sammy in the back three was excellent. And Skins, he missed the best part of four months with a ten centimetre tear in his hamstring, to get through ninety minutes is excellent. We're pleased to have him back amongst us.

"It's a tough place, Jim (Bentley) is a man I have huge respect for. He's got the boys going. We knew there would be a lot of balls in the box, lots of throw ins into the box.

"I said to the boys you'll have to defend your box today, if you don't defend your box properly you won't win the game. But we did, I thought the back three were excellent. Chappy as well.

"A great team performance."
