Hereford sign National League North play-off finalist

Cosmos Matwasa

Paul Caddis has made his third signing of the summer, bringing in a winger who helped Brackley Town to the National League North play-off final last month.

While Brackley couldn't secure promotion, being beaten by Boston United, it was another strong campaign for the side.

And now winger Cosmos Matwasa has joined the Bulls for the 2024/24 season having been a regular at St James's Park over the last two seasons.

Caddis told the official club website that Matwasa is a player supporters will react to, with attributes he really likes - such as huge pace and power.

"With a strong core of the group in place and with Cosmos addition and what he brings to the team we are really pleased with the signing. As always we look forward to welcoming Cos into the group," Caddis said.

When he signed for Brackley in 2022, he was described as a highly-rated winger, who had previously been with step four Stamford AFC.

Having impressed during pre-season trials for the Saints, Kevin Wilkin signed the "flying winger", who had also been at Anstey Nomads until 2019.

On top of helping Brackley to two play-off finals in as many years, he had previously helped Stamford to a second-placed finish 2nd in the Northern Premier League, scoring 10 goals along the way.

He becomes the third new arrival at Edgar Street this summer, joining keeper Aaron Chapman and midfielder Chay Tilt.
