Hereford sign Sporting Khalsa winger

Hereford have signed winger Chay Tilt from Sporting Khalsa.

The Willenhall club, who the Bulls faced in the Midland Football League, are now in step four's Northern Premier League Midland Division.

The club have described him as a creative and clinical winger who has previously played for West Bromwich Albion, Queen’s Park Rangers, Stourbridge, Tamworth, Redditch, Hednesford and Macclesfield Town.

Manager Paul Caddis has said 26-year-old Tilt is a player who is "really exciting on the eye" and hopes he will start enjoying football again while at Edgar Street.

He can also play in central midfield.

He told the official website: "Sometimes in life people need opportunities and we feel Chay is at that stage of his career now. He has really exciting attributes and I know he has a hunger and desire to get his career back on track."

Spending the entirety of his youth career at West Bromwich Albion, Tilt went on to sign first-year professional terms at The Hawthorns before moving south to join Queens Park Rangers.

Having been released from Loftus Road in the summer of 2019, Chay spent the 2019/20 campaign with step three side Stourbridge. He made 25 starts for The Glassboys - scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in the process.

When he signed for Macclesfield in September 2020, it was reported his impressive displays the previous season had caught the eye of several EFL clubs - which led to a trial at Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town.

His time at Moss Rose was short-lived, rejoining Stourbridge after a brief spell at Tamworth.
