Tope Odabeyi
A difficult game at Rushall last night with very gusty winds. However Hereford scored thre only goal of the game and manager Paul Caddis was delighted.
"Three points, it's all that matters," he said.
"It wasn't pretty one bit.
"I felt for the spectators at times but obviously not ours who went away happy.
"I thought we defended really, really well second half.
"We knew that with the wind there were going to be long throws. It didn't trouble in terms of loads of chances but just the territory they had. They put balls into the box but I thought we defended excellently and scored a really good goal.
"Tope has come in and argueably he should have three in three with the goal against Torquay that was deemed out of the pitch.
"He's been everything I thought to be honest.
"I know a lot of people probably looked at it at the time and thought we were signing someone not playing at Banbury for what ever reason.
"I knew what I could get from him and he's been excellent, he's contributed, did we expect him to get two in three, probably not, but he's contributed really well.
"He's a brilliant player to have in the dressing room, he's experience. Again I like the fact that he was in this situation last year when he was chasing the top end of the division and he's an ex EFL player.
"Everything ticked the boxes for us and we're really pleased for him."
How much could you plan for the conditions here tonight given the wind was really trickey.
"I'll be honest I'll tell you exactly what was said in the dressing room.
"I probably wasted ten minutes talking about tactics and then at the very end I said everything I've just said is probably irrevelent in the game because it's difficult - today wasn't about tactics and analysis, it clearly wasn't.
"It was about the body, the human body, and what you give and the character and what you've inside, the bravery to defend the box as often as possible.
"We knew we would the second half, we knew the ball would come into our box.
"We're disappointed we didn't work the goalie as much with the goal however we're delighted with the three points."
