Free agent Theo Robinson signs for relegation-threatened National League North club

Theo Robinson visited Edgar Street in April with Brackley Town
Gloucester City have signed 34-year-old striker Theo Robinson as they look to avoid relegation from the National League North.

The club, who Hereford earned four points against over the Christmas double header, lie 22nd in the league with 22 points from 27 games.

Robinson, who came to Edgar Street on loan from Watford with Toumani Diagouraga, played 43 games and scored 13 goals for the Bulls in the 2007-08 season which saw them earn automatic promotion to League One.

He then had spells at several other Football League clubs, including Huddersfield Town, Doncaster Rovers and Southend United, and even had 10 games in Scotland with Motherwell.

He was most recently with Brackley Town, where he started eight games and made six substitute appearances after signing for the National League North club in March.

When Brackley and Hereford drew 2-2 Edgar Street in April, Robinson and several of his family were at the game. He wasn't named on the teamsheet though.

Gloucester have not said much about their new signing, other than a post on social media which said: "The striker, who's played over 400 EFL games, was a free agent with City securing his services until the end of the season.

"Don't miss Theo's potential debut on Saturday as we face Blyth Spartans at TigerTurf Stadium."
