Harry Pinchard, right, scored his first goal for Gloucester - against Hereford on Boxing Day |
Gloucester City's manager Mike Cook has praised former Hereford midfielder Harry Pinchard after he scored his first goal of the season.
It came against his former club in the 3-2 win for Hereford on Boxing Day.
Pinchard, 22, moved to Gloucester in the summer despite being offered a deal by Paul Caddis to stay at Edgar Street.
Having been offered a contract and being under 24, meant the Bulls were entitled to compensation, with the fee agreed with the Tigers.
That transfer was under former manager Tim Flowers and assistant Yan Klukowski, who was sacked in September and replaced by Cook.
After the game, in which Pinchard nicked the ball off Nathan Cameron to score the equaliser to bring his side back level, Cook said it was a superb goal.
He said he was pleased for Pinchard and they had recently talked about goals being the only thing lacking from the midfielder.

"I think that if we could get him up the pitch a little bit more and he's running with the ball and taking people on, then he will get us chances like that as well," Cook said in an interview posted on the Gloucester City YouTube channel.
"Tremendous sort of physical effort for him to nick the ball and then go ahead and keep a cool, calm head to score was brilliant I thought."
When Pinchard, a product of the Cardiff City Academy, moved, Bulls chair Chris Ammonds said: “Harry has done well for us in his two years here and has conducted himself excellently.
“He goes to Gloucester with our best wishes. Although I have made it clear he is not allowed to make any telling contributions in fixtures against us!”
