In an interview with BBC Hereford and Worcester recorded last week, Hereford FC manager Paul Caddis spoke about goalkeeper Curtis Pond.
"I'm very happy to accept that Curtis Pond was probably my biggest gamble in terms of signings," said Caddis.
"I spoke to a lot of people about him.
"I was really impressed first and foremost about his size, I wanted a big goalkeeper, I don't think the club has had a goalkeeper of that size for a long time.
"I just knew coming into this league that we needed a big figure at the back and he has been that.
"Have I been surprised by how well he's done, I probably have been, I think everybody has been.
"I didn't know too much about him but I knew enough to trust my instincts and go with it.
"He's been absolutely first class, the fans love him.
"He loves it here, he's someone we really enjoy working with.
"He's got that character that if he makes a mistake he just gets on with it."
