Hereford FC are preparing for a bumper gate on New Year's Day when Gloucester City visit Edgar Street.Fans after Hereford beat Spennymoor 2-1 last week
It'll be the return fixture after the Bulls came from behind to beat the Tigers 3-2 on Boxing Day with blocks B, C and G already nearing a sell-out.
In a short update yesterday evening on X, formerly Twitter, the club said: "We're expecting a bumper gate on NYD vs @GCAFCofficial, with a few seating areas already limited in availability.
"B Block, C Block and G Block are all starting to near capacity.
"Book your tickets online asap to avoid disappointment."
Commenting on the news, Hereford's general manager Jamie Griffiths said: "Incredible ticket sales so far, this could be a BIG gate!"
Assistant manager Adam Rooney said: "Been a cracking atmosphere @HerefordFC last few months! Let’s hope for another! ⚽️🤞🏼"
Last year, the Christmas double header was against Kidderminster Harriers, but with the Worcestershire side promoted at the end of last season, the Bulls now have Gloucester to look forward to instead.
For the festive fixture last year, which saw the Bulls at home on Boxing Day, 3,221 were inside Edgar Street with 551 from Harriers.
But that was under former manager Josh Gowling with neither side setting the league alight. In fact, a lack of passion and penetration summed the match up.
This year it could be more, despite the likelihood of a smaller away following, there has been a feel-good factor around Edgar Street.
The last home game, on Saturday (December 23), saw a gate of 2,707 (43 away) watch on as Andy Williams made his debut as Caddis threw the kitchen sink in a search for a late winner. Hereford showed their metal and beat Spennymoor Town 2-1 with an injury time winner.
